Becoming an Ad Angler Affiliate
1. How do I become an Ad Angler Affiliate?
Potential affiliates are required to accurately complete the Affiliate Application form located on the Ad Angler site in order to be considered for approval into the affiliate program. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for a more detailed description of the procedures.
2. What other requirements must I meet?
To be considered for approval, potential affiliates must supply complete, verifiable information on the application, insure that an accurate phone number (including country code) is given in order for the Affiliate Manager can initiate the phone interview, and sign and fax a copy of the Terms and Conditions/Acceptable Use Policy and 2003 Can-Spam Act to AdAngler.
3. Do I need a website?
Yes. Affiliates will need to maintain a fully functioning website that has all sections and pages fully constructed, having original content that is not primarily links, promotions, or advertisements, containing no objectionable content and/or spawning pop-ups/pop downs, have a domain registered to the affiliate or the affiliate’s company, be operated and maintained by the affiliate, attract at least 1,000 unique visitors a month, includes a Privacy Policy that explains how consumer personal information is collected, used, and protected, and must also have provisions for maintaining an opt in/ opt out list associated with the website. Affiliates may not frame any part of the Ad Angler and/or Ad Angler Advertiser sites or landing pages into their websites or any third party sites.
4. How will I know if I am approved as an Affiliate?
An Ad Angler advertising manager will respond within 72 hours, via telephone, to discuss the potential affiliate’s completed application, intended Internet marketing niche, and the methods, tactics, and marketing strategies that the affiliate will be using. Once all paperwork has been submitted and verified, and the interview is completed, Affiliates will be notified by email of their status. Affiliates who have been approved will need to fax a copy of their current driver’s license, a copy of their business license (if applicable) and a signed W-9 (W-8 for international affiliates).
5. Why does Ad Angler ask for a W9 or W8-BEN?
The Internal Revenue Service requires that businesses report the earnings of individuals. If an affiliate earns over $600 during the year, Ad Angler must report those earnings on a Form 1099 to the affiliate and to the IRS. The information you provide on the W9 is used to fill out the Form 1099. International affiliates are required to fill out a W8-BEN, as per IRS regulations.
6. May I register more than one account with Ad Angler?
Affiliates and their companies may register only one account with Ad Angler. Affiliates should consult with an Ad Angler account manager concerning this.
7. Are affiliates considered employees of Ad Angler?
No, Affiliates of Ad Angler are independent contractors, and are in no way considered employees, partners, or agents representing Ad Angler. As independent contractors, affiliates do not have the authority to use Ad Angler’s name or imply representation of Ad Angler for any purpose. Affiliates are solely and legally responsible for all activity (marketing through e-mail, text, search engine, website, etc.) they engage in while promoting Ad Angler Advertiser promotions. Affiliates are responsible for all traffic that goes through their sites.
8. What will Ad Angler be responsible for?
Ad Angler’s website will be responsible for presenting and maintaining a variety of active Advertiser offers, promotions, and campaigns. Each will contain information about the payout, acceptable promotion, and any specific terms and conditions. Ad Angler reserves the right to make changes to the particulars of an Advertiser offering (payout values, etc.) in the course of the promotion’s run or at the Advertisers request.
Ad Angler will display and administer all active promotions and track payments owed to the Affiliates. Approved Affiliates will receive a limited, non-exclusive right to download approved Advertiser promotions from Ad Angler’s network website and publish/promote them on their websites and/or through electronic correspondence sent by the Affiliate. This right is not transferable.
9. How will I be paid?
Compensation is achieved when an Affiliate has delivered a verifiable, legally obtained lead or sale. Advertisers will determine what constitutes a verifiable lead or sale, and this information along with all other terms and conditions set forth by the Advertiser will be included in the promotion information. Commissions are paid to Affiliates based on the payment terms each Advertiser sets per promotion. All commissions are paid by check in American dollars and mailed via the United States Postal Service. Commissions will be paid out as a net 30, on a monthly basis (commissions earned are paid approximately 30 days after the end of the month they were generated), based on the threshold of at least 100 dollars. Balances less that 100 dollars will carry over to succeeding months until 100 dollars is reached. Affiliate checks are processed on the last day of the month and mailed on the first of the next month. Ad Angler’s preferred payment method is by check. Wire transfer and NET changes are available to affiliates who meet specific volume criteria. Affiliates wishing to be paid through PayPal, will be paid by check for their first commission. Commission payments do not incur interest.
